My Birthday Party at Daytona

On Saturday morning I woke up for my birthday party.
First we picked up Molly Paige and Nancy and we went straight to Daytona.
When we arrived, we got our helmets on, but Molly didn't feel that well so she didn't go on.
When we hopped on the long wide go-karts, I had number 4. The man said to put on our seatbelts for safety.  The man let me go first.
I was in the lead but number six came along. William passed me then dad. I thought mine was  the slowest kart.
On the second lap around, I saw Nancy stuck in the tyres. I started laughing at her.  I was skidding around the corners and  I passed Paige. She was trying  to beat me then I suddenly thought my kart wasn't the slowest. I started waving at Mum and Molly.
At the end, the man said to park up our karts, so we did then Nancy rammed into Paige and she nearly bumped Paige off the karts. We started laughing. I used to do that to other people.
After we walked over the tyres, we took off our helmets, then  Mum took a photo of us hugging each other.
When we jumped in the car with laughter, she gave us some lollies.

Tabloid Sports

On Friday morning, we had Tabloid Sports with Awhina on the field.
First, our school got put into numbers to one to twelve. I was number two. Our school rushed down to the courts. We were as loud as a million seagulls. Mr K said to go to our event.
Our team did sponge dipping after we did the Tug-o war. We got into a straight line. Mrs Ashton gave us the instructions. The first person was as fast as a fly. She picked up the sponge and ran to the red bucket and squeezed all of the water out. After Cassele's turn, it was mine. I got the sponge that looked like an orange cheese. I splashed the water everywhere. I ran as fast as I could and squeezed the water out like orange juice. At the finish, our group won.

Bring It On

When I was 9 years old, our school had an Athletics Day. We all competed in lots of events, like High Jump, Long Jump, Vortex, Shot Put, Discus and Sprints.

First,  we did high jump.  It was a nice and sunny day with green wet grass. Trace wrote down our names in order. The nine year olds girls did high jump.  I thought I was going to come last. First my Mum said, “We will have a practice before we start.”
After we had a practice, we did the real one. First, Sorenity made it and she made a big THUMP!!! noise when she hit the mat then it was my turn. I ran as fast as I could and I made it. When I hit the mat, It was like a small blue bouncy castle. Molly and Nancy were saying, ”Good job,” and cheering for me then it was my turn again. I ran as and fast as a rocket. I zoomed over the long white pipe.  I did not make it so I had to sit down with Molly, Nia, Brodee and Nancy.
My Mum had it wrong so I had another turn. This time, it was out of Darian, Jaimee, Hunter-Rose and me. Darian did not make it. I had to make it. If I did not make it, I would've lost high jump. I  was breathing hard and I  was confident that I was going to make the jump. I ran as fast as I could. I did the scissors kick over the bar. I made it and I came 3rd place. Everyone was screaming because I  came 3rd place.

Next, we ran to  long jump. Mrs  Ashton showed us how to do it. Daneka ran first. If I went first, I would be nervous. It was my turn. I was like a tiger chasing and jumping for its prey.  I hit the ground like an elephant that was overweight. My distance was 2.32 metres. After Molly, Cameron, Drew, Alex and Richard went, it was back to my turn. I started to blitz it. I made it and I came 2nd.

It was a fun day, but I was very tired when I got home.

Pet Day

At St Paul’s School on Friday morning, some of the children brought some animals to school.
All of the children brought their pets onto the courts. The children carried them carefully around the courts. There was a white fluffy slow rabbit with a blue leash around its small belly. There was an unusual spray-painted blue chicken that was quite fast. It was so noisy, it nearly made me deaf and it had sharp purple pink claws. It had big bulging blue eyes. All of the kids were excited. After I looked at the hens, I  looked at the two goldfish. One was like a small red flame of fire from a shooting star from space then I saw a little brown mouse. It had Autumn’s hair in its cage.  It was like a tiny little brownie biscuit. All the pets were unusual.
Some of the the children were blown away with what they had seen. They hadn’t  seen anything like it before in their lives. William and I took the chickens to the hall. We were carrying them up to the stage after the pet parade. I gave it some fresh water then we put them in the car and took them back home where they belong.
